WINTER/SPRING FITNESS CLASSES:

Basic Pilates with Judy Brinkley, Mondays at 10:00 AM, January 9 - May 21. Cost is $5.00 per class Pilates is a series of stretching and strengthening exercises, which integrate the whole body and mind. Judy is a former University dance teacher and has studied Pilates since she was 7 years old. She brings a wealth of knowledge and depth to this method of conditioning. She teaches a full mat class. Bring a mat and a water bottle. Participants should be in good health.

Gentle Hatha Yoga with Emily Hain, Tuesdays at 2:00 PM, January 10 - May 22. Hatha Yoga relaxes both the body and the mind. As we stretch and strengthen, yoga teaches how to find steadiness and ease in movement and in stillness. Yoga practice gently opens us to receive life's gifts and helps us to be fully present in every moment. Our strength, flexibility and balance improve, regardless of our shape, size and abilities. Practice yoga today for a healthier and happier tomorrow! No experience necessary. Please wear comfortable clothes and bring a mat. Cost $5 per class. Emily Rain, BA, E-RYT, instructor.

Yoga for Core Strength with Kim Bollinger, Tuesdays, January 10 - May 22, 6:00-6:50 PM, Cost is $5.00 per class. Designed for those with some experience with yoga or other strength bearing exercises. Build core strength, flexibility and balance while learning mental focus and inner calm. Bring a yoga mat or a towel.

Gentle Evening Yoga with Kim Bolinger, Tuesdays, January 10 - May 22, 7:00-7:50 PM Cost is $5.00 per class. A gentle class designed to help release tension and teach principles to reduce overall stress and promote relaxation with gentle stretches, breathing techniques and meditation. Bring a yoga mat or a towel.

T'ai Chi with Dianne Douglass Wednesdays, 9:00 AM, January 11- May 23. Cost is $5.00 per class

Easy Hatha Yoga for Seniors (Chair Yoga) with Emily Hain, a certified Yoga Instructor, on Fridays at 10:30 AM, January 13th -March 30th. No experience or special equipment is necessary; chairs will be used for support. Cost is $4.00 per class. Learn how yoga can help keep you more healthy and active. This class is designed to warm up the body, improve your balance and maintain strength and flexibility in a relaxing and non-competitive style.

Book Discussion Groups meet in the Captain's Room;the first group meets every 2nd Tuesday at 1:00 PM. The 2nd group meets on the 2nd Wednesday of the month at 10:00 AM.

The Watercolor Group - Thursdays, from 1:00-4:00 PM in the Captain's Room. This social, non-instructive painting group is open to anyone with an interest in watercolors. Master Gardening Clinic – Fridays 10:00 AM –1:00 PM in the Captain's Room. (On the 4th Friday of the month, they will meet in the Jane von Thron Room.) Contact Marion Anderson for details 784-1874.
