Who are the Friends of the Cocoa Beach Library?
More than 1,100 of your neighbors are current dues-paying members of the Friends of the Cocoa Beach Library. We are people who have come together to support the library's services and programs. We'd love for you to join us.
What is the purpose of the Friends of the Cocoa Beach Library?
According to our By-laws, "the purposes of the Friends are to promote the welfare and growth of this library, to enrich its resources and to make its services better known, as well as to stimulate gifts, bequests, and endowments and accept same for the benefit of the library." Among the many ways the Friends assist the library are: providing program funding for both adults and children, sponsoring travel film series, writing and mailing a monthly newsletter to members; bringing in authors to speak at events, purchasing books and equipment for use by the public, holding used book sales, and decorating the library for the holidays. Typically we donate about $10,000 each year to support library operations.
Who are the officers?
Our current officers are: Pat Balogh, President; JoAnn Bailey, 1st Vice-President; Dee Lucas, 2nd Vice-president; Evelyn Hubscher, Treasurer; Richard Bates, Secretary; Nancy Villarosa, Past-President.
When do the Friends meet?
The Friends Board meets at 4:00 PM in the Cocoa Beach Library Community Room the 1st Wednesday of January, February, March, April, May, September, October, and November. Board meetings are open to all members and to all visitors. Join us!
